Mrs Sheila Don
After qualifying as an accountant with the CIPFA, Sheila spent her career with Cumbria County Council, much within adult social care. She is presently secretary of the North West Retired Accountants Group and works as a Lay judge for the Employment Tribunal Service. She currently volunteers as deputy chair of governors at her local primary school and is also a Chaperone, FOCCUS Facilitator and Head of Centre for the Marriage Care Carlisle Centre.
Mr Nigel Dorning
Mr Dorning worked for 35 years in the Lloyds insurance market holding senior positions with leading companies in the broking and underwriting fields. Having recently retired Nigel currently acts as advisor to several Lloyds related busineses. He is a member of the Finance Committee.
Reverend Roger Carr-Jones
Roger was appointed as the Marriage and Family Life Coordinator for the Diocese of Westminster in August 2018 and is the President’s nominee to the board of trustees. Roger brings to this role a wealth of pastoral and practical experience, having worked as an Internal Auditor in the Public Sector and then in Project work within the Church. Ordained as a Permanent Deacon in 2008, Roger is a trained Spiritual Director in the Ignatian Tradition. Roger has been involved in Marriage Preparation, enrichment and accompaniment for a number of years.
Dr Clare Watkins
Dr. Clare Watkins is Reader in Ecclesiology and Practical Theology at the University of Roehampton, where she is also Director of the Theology and Action Research Network. Her research is committed to practical engagement with faith life, in order to better understand and speak about church, sacraments, and – especially – the life of lay Christians. A Catholic theologian, Clare has been especially interested in marriage and the household as expressions of ‘domestic church’.
Mrs Glenda Spencer
Glenda has recently retired from the role of Branch manager of DHL. She is an experienced Counsellor, Trainer and Marriage Preparation course facilitator and is Head of our Ilford and Southend centre. She is also the Chair of Governors of a special needs school as well as playing an active part in the life of her local church.
Mrs Annie Dunster
Annie has spent 25 years in the international legal profession, and for a number of years was the Deputy Executive Director of the International Bar Association, the world’s largest association of lawyers. Since 2007 Annie and her husband have served as facilitators of the Marriage Preparation courses in their local parish.
