Pathways to Marriage Care’s Certificate in Relationship Counselling
No prior counselling experience
Preparation phase: Attendance at a basic counselling skills course is highly recommended.
Initial/Centre Selection: Application to CRC; suitable references obtained and successful local centre interview.
National Selection: Attendance at a series of selection interviews at our national selection day.
Training:
Commencement of academic phase of counselling training: ongoing assessment; begin working towards 160 hours of a mix of face to face and online counselling with clients.
All assessments passed and 100 hours completed, move to being able to hold more complex cases and initial appointments.
Achievement of 160 counselling hours: award of certificate and move to qualified couples counsellor
status.
Qualified counsellor status
Application phase: Complete application form for CRC.
