“Having had an interest in marriage preparation, I did the training and started working with other colleagues from my local centre. It is amazing to see young people (and some not so young!) come on our courses, perhaps with some trepidation or even reluctance, and see them learn and grow, and find out how to build and develop their relationship - something that was missing for me when I married.”
Become a Marriage Preparation Course Facilitator
Are you passionate about healthy marriages? We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals or couples to present our Preparing Together marriage preparation courses for those getting married in the Catholic Church.
You will ideally have a background in facilitating groups and essentially have personal experience of marriage, an understanding of, and positive commitment to, the values of Christian marriage, as well as great communication skills. We will provide you with full training and support from your local team as well as the national support team in this exciting and fulfilling role.
This role can be conducted online (via Zoom) and once we go back to face to face service provision there will be opportunity for those who want to conduct in-person workshops to do so.
For further information and to apply please check your local centre for vacancies and then read through the Marriage Care Information Pack and the role description before filling in the application form and Equal Opportunities form. Or email us at email@example.com to make further enquiries.
All suitable applicants will have an informal interview at the local centre. If successful and upon receipt of a suitable reference you will be recommended for training and will be booked a place on the next training course with availability. After training you will need to assist with two marriage preparation days to the satisfaction of the team and then will be ready to co-facilitate courses yourself!
