I had been a counsellor for Marriage Care for a number of years and became very interested when they decided to develop FOCCUS. The new training gave me a whole new set of experiences and knowledge. It was also different working with a couple stressed out because they were happy and thinking about their wedding, instead of those who had stress that comes from relationship problems!

Become a FOCCUS facilitator

FOCCUS Facilitators prepare couples on an individual basis using a tailored questionnaire technique to help couples explore their unique relationship. Before the session the couple undertake a questionnaire which looks at areas such as family life, faith and spirituality, how they communicate and settle differences etc. The Facilitator will then meet with the couple, usually via Zoom, and using the FOCCUS questionnaire report will help them explore their relationship, understand how it works and identify and discuss any issues that need addressing as they prepare to commit to each other in marriage.

We’re looking for :

  • Excellent communicators
  • Enthusiasm for supporting couples as they embark on the Sacrament of Marriage
  • Personal experience of marriage and a positive commitment to the values of Christian marriage to guide couples, who are getting married in the Catholic Church, in understanding their relationship using the questionnaire-based relationship tool, FOCCUS©.

You’ll get

  • Full training and support in this exciting role
  • Option to deliver online (via Zoom) or in-person if preferred

Please note: If you would only like to facilitate in-person and not online you can email us at: beth@marriagecare.org.uk to check that we have vacancies in your area.
