The main contribution to the pastoral care of families is offered by the parish, which is the family of families. The Joy of Love #202

Volunteer as a Parish Advocate

We are looking for parish volunteers who may not have the time to commit to one of our practitioner roles but who are willing to represent Marriage Care in their own parish. This will involve ensuring that Marriage Care information and/or literature is available on the parish noticeboard or in the parish bulletin. If feasible we encourage Parish Advocates to deliver annually a short pulpit talk (text provided) to raise awareness of our services.  Ideally they will also keep an eye out for suitable potential volunteers and an ear out for any emerging needs that their Head of Centre ought to be aware of.

There is no formal recruitment process for Parish Advocates who will liaise with the Centre’s Parish liaison officer(s) but we have developed a role description which is available as a download below for you to find out more about the role. To inquire about the role please contact:  volunteer@marriagecare.org.uk
