Marriage Preparation Provider Training
Marriage Preparation Provider Training
The Procedure:
Interested candidates should contact their local Marriage Care Centre in the first instance, expressing their interest in learning more about the work. You will then be invited to attend an information meeting with members of the Centre to hear about the work and the commitment involved. If you wish to proceed you will be asked to submit an Application Form and to provide the name of a referee. The local Centre will forward your Application Form to National Office requesting a place for you on a training course.
The Training:
The formal Marriage Preparation Provider Training Course takes place over three days, usually on consecutive weekends. The course content includes the basic psychology of marriage and intimate relationships; basic group management skills and presentation skills and the Catholic theology of marriage. Successful participants will undergo a probationary period, working as part of a team on two marriage preparation courses. Successful completion of the probationary period will result in the award of a Marriage Care Marriage Preparation Provider Certificate.
