Volunteer as a marriage preparation coordinator

Do you like coordinating events and organising people?

At Marriage Care we believe better relationships produce better lives. That is why we provide marriage preparation courses for engaged couples. These courses equip couples with the skills they need to have a healthy, long lasting marriage.

Organising these courses takes time and skill. If you want to be part of this important service and you have strong admin and people skills and, ideally, some experience working with the Church we would like to hear from you. Your role will be to communicate with couples who are booked on courses and the facilitators running the course, providing information and answering their questions. You may also be involved in booking venues, welcoming couples on the day and assisting with the smooth running of the day. Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

This is a ‘virtual’ role with courses being held in community premises. The suitable candidate will need to be able to work from home and have access to the internet, computer and phone. The commitment involved would be between 2-4 hours per week (hours are flexible) plus quarterly centre meetings. Attendance to one or two regional or national meetings per year is also encouraged.

This role gives me an opportunity to interact at a deeper level with a wider group including couples, facilitators and volunteers at our centre and staff at national office.”
