Counsellor Training in Mariage Care
Counsellor Training in Marriage Care
The Initial Training Course
Marriage Care runs an Initial Training Course each year designed for students with no or little previous knowledge of counselling. It enables students, who are usually over 30 years of age, to obtain the Diploma in Relationship Counselling awarded jointly by York St. John University and Marriage Care in order to work as Relationship Counsellors for Marriage Care. The Course runs over two years and includes six residential weekends and three training days. Each trainee also has to complete one hundred hours of supervised counselling.
The Course is not BACP accredited but provides a firm foundation for those wishing to attain such accreditation.
Although the true cost of the course is £4500, on the basis that a trainee will work with Marriage Care for at least five years, the fee to each trainee is only £300.
